    Tour Details

Tihar, celebrated in Nepal as Diwali, is a vibrant five-day Hindu festival that pays homage to Yama, the god of death. Commencing with Kaag Tihar and concluding with Bhai Tika, each day holds special significance. During this festival, homes are adorned with the warm glow of diyo, and intricate patterns called Rangoli, made with colored rice, flour, sand, or flower petals, welcome gods and goddesses, particularly Lakshmi.

This auspicious occasion is not only about divine reverence but also extends compassion to animals that share our lives, such as crows, cows, and dogs. The celebration involves various communities showcasing unique traditions, and the atmosphere is filled with the crackling sounds of firecrackers. Children play a significant role, moving from house to house, singing traditional songs, and receiving gifts in the form of money and food. Tihar is more than just a festival; it is a three-day-long national holiday in Nepal, bringing people together in joyous celebration and fostering a spirit of inclusivity and respect for all living beings.
